I haven't explored this but I assume the FSR's Deluxes are limited to GC only in that it was their exclusive last summer...a maple V-neck as part of the specs, which is my preference. If you can get the Standard for $999 less 20%, go for it.

Well. we just got back. It was a no-go on the discount . Fender is excluded in the Sam Ash deal (in the fine-print)

They still had a the Black/maple for $999 though. I tried it out and it obviously had not been on the rack there very long, because it didnt have a fingerprint on it

If I had them search for a different finish one, there's no way to tell if it would come scratched/handled (you know how it is at GC )

So, I figured "A bird in the hand................." So, I got the black one for $999. Another reason for going with GC is I can get the one year same-as-cash.

On the same-as-cash deal: I also have a MF card. But if you've ever noticed, their inventory is identical to GC's online inventory ( most people know they are owned by the same people ) So, I could have order a black one (that's all MF has now) or just buy the one I bought today.

It does have the maple neck though

They are a very good deal at this time even if you are not into all the modeling sounds on the VG its still a well put together guitar fit an finish wise which make that price very tempting!
