My son bought a new VG Streat at GC today. I'm curious as to why I can't find any info on the serial number.

It's z7223617

I figure it's an '07 but that can be off a year either way.

Anyway, I can't find anything on it on the web stating there was ever a z7+6 digits........anybody know of a link with this info?

So it's an 07 with the Z indicating the decade beginning with 2000.

Apparently. At the Fender site when you go to the product page for it, it says it is continued as of April '09

We've tried it out for a couple days now and, so far it's well liked. Only thing I'd change would be to drop a JbJr in the rear position. Other than that its all good

This may be one you don't want to attempt to modify unless you really good at interfacing with the Roland circuit. In addition to which, if problem with same, altering the guitar will void any warranty.

Have your local Guitar Center search their national inventory for a Blizzard Pearl guitar and arrange an inter-store transfer. I will be picking up an FSR Deluxe VG Sienna Sunburst on Saturday which was found that way.

I did find out that Sam Ash has an extra 20% off, (ending tonite). GC's policy is that they will beat that. We're going over there today to get the extra $200 off the one we bought tuesday, if they will do it.

Sam Ash also has a 3-tone/rosewood that I'm finding it hard to restrain myself from pulling the trigger on

I may do it. I already have a 3-tone/maple Deluxe, so the rosewood would be a nice complement to the heard
