In 2001 my roommate at the time needed cash and sold me his 1997 Stratocaster for $300. To this day I really don't know the make or model. It came with Seymour Duncan pickups. Serial N7222793.

Is there a reference somewhere (online - no books) that has some sort of database of these things?

Thanks, Matt

That's pretty..hows this for a deal, I'll give you $400! That's a $100 profit! jk....

Anyway, keep checking ebay. In fact there's a 1997 American Strat on there with $909 as a "buy it now" price. And I generally see used American Strats on Craigslist for about $700.

Not a bad increase in value...Now aren't you glad you didn't put that money in the stock market?
