Post subject: A Malmsteen neck into a vintage body

This would be a tough question to answer but I'll ask anyway. What the hell. I got a spare Malmsteen neck and was thinking of picking up a body from Reliable Fender. He's got like a 68 RI and a 62 RI plus a 57 RI. But my concern is the fit in the neck pocket.

I tried putting my Malmsteen neck on a Jimmie Vaughn Strat only to discover that it didn't fit too good. Big gap on the left side. I could slide my pick in between the body and the neck.

I'd rather not have that happen again so...

Do any of you guys have any thoughts as to how good or bad a Malmsteen neck would fit into one of the above mentioned bodies?

even with the gap....... there should be no problem at all ...... I would do it ......

It should slide right into a nice reissue body. I would definitely say do it!
