last week i got an american deluxe HSS QMT and i love it and i have been playing it at least six hours a day since i got it

there is no way i would ever put a hole in it or damage it in ANY WAY to put a switch

my guitar has just the one master noload tone, master volume with s-1 in it and 5-way

I was wondering is it possible to put a push/pull switch on a no load tone knob to split the coils to a single coil ,the no load has to have more wireing because it has a bypass

it would give me four more pickup pickup combinations bringing it up to 14

i really think that would have been an awsome thing to have done from the factory

http://www.fender.com/products/s1/pdf/A ... 1-7000.pdf

with the s1 switch up on position four the coil is split,so how can i do this or is it even possible with the wiring inside,

thank you in davanse for any help

What you want can be done. However, you would have to replace the existing no-load tone pot due to mechanical and design differences.

No manufacturer makes no-load, push/pull pots. You would have to purchase a 250K push/pull pot and alter its carbon path, thereby converting it to a no-load pot. There is information found on the web on how to do this; Google is your friend. You would also lose the detent that the OEM no-load pot has which IMO, is of little or no consequence.

Or, you could use a 500K push/pot and not bother making it a no-load. The 500K pot on 10 would expand the treble range of the pickup beyond that of a 250K load but of course, not as much as if you outright removed the load entirely.

Hope this helps!
