Just bought a new VG Strat - an incredible buy these days. Too bad Fender discontinued them. Even if the Roland pickup doesn't excite you, it's still a steal for a MIA Strat.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. It's just the color I wanted. When I close my eyes and think "guitar", I see a sunburst Strat. A dream come true, I guess. I can't seem to put it down. I hadn't even finished my first cup of coffee thiis morning and I was playing.

I just saw on the fender.com website they were discontinuing the VG. Came here to see if anyone mentioned this. Does anyone know why they are discontinuing it? I'm guessing economics.

side note: that is a pretty VG sunburst. sunburst is my favorite, I have a 2006 sunburst american.

Ya'll are constantly getting me into trouble I suffered a terrible GAS attack several hours ago. You know what that means

On order is a Sienna Sunburst American Deluxe VG Stratocaster...one of the GC's FSR's. I should have it in the house by Saturday unless I leave it for the tech to tweak a bit.

The skinny on this, according to my salesperson, is that Fender likely found itself overstocked and asked dealers to help them plow the road.

They are a sort of small operation but can get you almost anything you want. That's where I got my Gilmour from! They are super helpful and have a very good tech. Glad about your VG Doc, It will be rare one day!
