Be safe out there,

I have seen tons of worn looking guitars on ebay :)

Do NOT use eBay if you're in Iraq! A number of the military chapels in Iraq have MIA Strats and MIA P-basses on hand. If you're not on a FOB that size the local merchants can get Yamaha Pacificas at cheap prices to tide you over until you get back -- you might even get one on base as a hand-me-down, that's what we did with this acoustic guitar I played while I was there. If that doesn't work have someone Stateside check out a couple of stores/pawnshops, chip in collectively and send one to you. But stay away from eBay while you're deployed!

Thanks a lot! Our chapel only has one electric, it's a schecter and it's not too bad. I play at a service every week, but I want something I can carry around with me and play on my free time at work... So, the chapel thing is out. I knew e-bay was fishy though, I've never really liked the concept!

I think he means do not use ebay while in Iraq (right?). My wife and I use ebay all the time and would never call it "fishy." There are some great guitars on there..

Exactly, don't use it while in Iraq. go ahead and buy local if you can, trust me some Soldier or Marine has one over there that he or she will probably sell just to lighten the return load. If they're like me they'll head straight to GC as soon as they get home!
