I'm in New Jersey also.

My compass is a bit off these days....central huh?

How about Freehold?

On Rte. 9 ....Raritan Bay Guitar Repair...(732) 866-9024

The owner C.J. is pretty cool....a bit of a wise arse though!

Kyle usually works on my stuff.....they do good work!!

I know them....they're in the same building as Lou Rose Music!
I'd take an amp to them.....but a guitar?.......I dunno?

Yea same building as Lou Rose. I take my guitar there all the time. I have John K. work on it, he does good work. But yea they fix a lot of amps there.

Thanks for the reply...tried both but still looking for someone that is more attentive to player and guitar and not just setting up guitar for setup sake at the cost of $45 or $50.

All in all, I agree with jimmy b's post and will learn to setup own guitar...starting with a Squier.

Thanks all.

I would LOVE to do that stuff!!
I recently began messing with the intonation of my guitars by adjusting the saddles and have gotten pretty good at it!

It's just the thing of messing with the TRUSS rod that freaks me out!!
I'm afraid I'll snap the neck or sumpthin' !!

Will probably invest in the following books:

- The Guitar Player Repair Guide - 3rd by Dan Erlewine,

- How to Make Your Electric Guitar Play Great by Dan Erlewine, and

- The Fender Stratocaster Handbook: How To Buy, Maintain, Set Up, Troubleshoot, and Modify Your Strat by Paul Balmer

I know them too!
They're a GREAT vintage dealership....but I don't know if they do repairs and such...or if they would just send it out elsewhere to be done!
