This looks similar to one I just bought Serial # E 452820.
except for lace sensor gold pickupswhich are supposed to be original. I've been told the one I bought is what they once called a Deluxe American Standard or a Strat Deluxe Plus.

This information from http://www.guitardaterproject.org/fender.aspx
Your guitar was made at the
Fullerton or Corona Plant (Fender), USA
in the Year(s): 1984 - 1988.

It does look like a sweet guitar 8)

all the American stratocasters I have owned or come across( I bought new ones in both 87 and 88) were in fact 1987 or 1988s,yet had 84 serial #'s. but I would suppose there are 84's.After the smiths though they were different looking.they had the jack on the guard and 1 volume and 1 tone. The vibrato didn't go through the back either. so I would say this guitar is an 87 or 88. and a darn fine looking one too. Of course all this could be wrong. I'm getting to the point where 5 minutes ago is a long time to try and remember things,LOL

The Fender Stratocaster by A.R. Duchossoir is a great book with many technical details about the strat..
