I'm truly curious about how all you Strat players feel about them. Personally, I'm still ambivalent and would really like to read your impressions. So if you do take the poll, please post comments on your decision.

Remember, this is about the VINTAGE Noiseless but comparisons to other models/brands are certainly appreciated and oftentimes, necessary.

Thanks in advance!

Half the time i hate them the other half the time i love them. I honestly couldnt compare them to anything else since i've never been so up or down about a pickup. The excessive treble seems to invade every string making a lot of attack which i find great for metal but pretty much useless for anything else except super clean slide stuff. If i didnt know better i'd say they were built with an internal preamp.

I have that set bought months ago and theyre sitting somewhere in my room .. I remember when I installed them they sounded better than the stock p ickups in my mim 60's but then again I am more of the high output dude so I ended up not using them... not saying theyre bad but theyre just not my type of pickup :)

Hello Martin,

For me they are a good pickup,
not my all time favorite, but they work
well and I'm glad I got em in one of my guitars.

While not completely noiseless,
they're the quietest of my single coils.

Cheers.

They are stock in my Clapton Strat, I couldn't be happier.

They were an improvement on my MIM Strat's stock pickups, but I'm feeling the itch to change them again. The VN's are very heavy on the treble and that's not quite what I'd like. And they don't seem as responsive as my Texas Specials. I'm spoiled now because of how great the Texas Specials sound. I was thinking about replacing the VNs with Custom Shop Fat '50s, but that might sound too close to the Texas Specials and I'd like my Strats to sound different. I think I'm settled on trading in the VNs and paying the difference for some Custom Shop '69s. That would compliment the Texas Specials in my other Strat nicely. I just love Custom Shop pickups, they're worth every penny. :)

i love these pickups. they sound good. but it is true that they have a lot of treble. I run my guitar through an MXR eq, so I can dial down the treble, and then these pickups really sing beautifully.

I think they sound pretty amazing set fairly low in my '99 American Deluxe Fat Strat through my DRRI.

Used mine in at rehearsall last night. Only the 2nd time ive used em in a band situation. If i dont like em at home i dont like the idea of taking em out the house. Well WOW clear, sharp, deep and with the boost on scccreeeaam. Ever seen a mexican guitar obliterate a customshop cos it didnt make it off the stand.

Looks like after much experimentation my old gigging guitar is still my gigging guitar.

I've got them in one of my Strats. I like them for certain styles of music. If I could do it again. I would probably opt for the Dimarzio loaded pickguard with the area 58, 61, and 67. They're hum cancelling and have a better tone in my opinion.
