I personelly feel you really don,t know what you want. You ask too many people about things you can only ansewer. I think you need to play alot of guitars then make your own decision. You may hate the MK and be out alot of cash. I hope it comes and is everything in a guitar you want. I also have a roadworn and am going to sell it but not because I don,t like it. Im selling to but the same CS you tried out. I also have a few others to sell to raise enough cash.
listen that 2500 dollar cs didnt feel right there was something wrong with it just cause it said custom shop on it doesnt mean it was a perfect guitar

Hello Koocho,

Not commonly seen on the secondary market,
It is super nice guitar. Red nitro-cellulose paint
thickly applied none of this thinskin finish going
on there, the shade of red is darn near regal it's
Official Fender name is hot rod red and it is an
easy finish to chip so exercise care.

Texas specials are on board and theres a bit of
electrickery going on underneath the pickguard.
Most agree this axe has a familiar "Straits" tone.

Lastly the width of the neck at the nut is 1.625"
This is a bit on the narrow side {for me} though
not an issue for the masses.

Don't forget we all enjoy photos.

Cheers.
CAN U BE MORE SPECIFIC IS THAT A DESIGN FLAW

From what little exposure i've had to CS guitars, I have to say that they are great guitars. However; let me add that there is no way I would pay extra for a guit that looks like someone drug behind their vehicle for several miles.

So the custom wasnt the right choice for you. No big deal!

The knopfler series sounds like a good stick on paper. Lots of neat features. Hope it works out for you!

Hello Koocho,

Well there are 3 paragraphs you cited
No where do I imply a design flaw.
So I'm at a bit of a loss

Cheers.

I understand not getting the CS if it didn,t feel right to you. Thats the point paying a lot for a guitar you haven,t played might cost you money trying to sell it if you don,t like it only to try again. I hope you get the MK and love it.

Did you watch the youtube videos? There's a BUNCH of them of this strat

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_t ... strat&aq=f

You really need to do your research about this. Personally, I've never played one, or a custom shop. I'm very happy with my American Standard..did you try one (or better - many different ones!)?

Koo, I also swear by my American Standard. Yeah they recently jumped up to the 1,200 price, although if you're lucky you can find a VG strat for $999.

Are you taking guitar lessons?

If not, another idea is to use any money you saved by skipping the custom shop, and get some lessons!

Only you know what you want.

Deep down you know what you want and I hope you made the correct choice for you and you only (It sounds like you did).

In terms of quality I'm sure you won't be dissapointed with the Mark Knopfler strat. I know it's a lot of money and it was an important decision but try and take it easy and worry less.

Hey Koocho, If anything, you are consistent. You went from a 60's RW to a 60's CS to a 60's MK. So at least we have a clue what you like. I like the same ones - 60's Strats!

As guitar players (buyers, hoarders, etc) we all jones for different flavors. But for me it's between different types of guitars- LP, PR, Strat.

Hope you love your Mark Knopfler. Judging by your history and all your posts, it is going to be exactly what you want.

You know what's another good one? The Robert Cray model - 60's hardtail!
