Hey StratHeads-

This thread has gotten out of control. There have been some good responses to the original question...and then there are those post which are getting heated over a neck finish- Geeze !

I too think its funny when Alwaysstrat goes balistic in defending his beloved HWY One(s) but there is a point when it just gets old. I can now see why Alwaysstrat has retired from being the Illusive semi famous professional rock star he claims he once was- He doesn't play well with others and other opinions. It's truly sad....I hear there are med for that now...and group therapy.

None of Fenders modern production guitars are going to be classic's for a long time to come and none are going to go up any 20% in value for no reason. I would hate to see the 57" go away and the Vaughan has been around now for like 10 years I think and seems to be holding its own. I do like the soft V neck on the Vaughan an to me it much faster then the HWY1 because I don't like those JUMBO! frets on the plain Modern c neck it would feel better to me with the medium jumbo. The finish on the necks of both the HWY and the Vaughan are Satin Urethane even the Amer. Stnd. has that type of finish on the back but they do the extra work to gloss the head stock.
Well it's hard to compare the Vaughan to the HWY1 they are very little alike to even compare. In fact there is nothing the same about them.

oh hum the man who knows the future
and i personaly think you are dead wrong

I know how a guitar is finished and preped , and I no a guitar does not breath. It all about the thickness. And tell me why a HWY1 you paid 750. for could possibley be worth 1300. when Fender makes so many other guitars of the same years that are arguably better that have shown no such increase in value. Then HIGHWAYPLAYER talks about the how much faster the neck is on the HWY1 and says its because of the finish well like I said its just a modern C finished like others with BIG JUMBO frets which to most slow playabilty but help with bending. These things are just logical which is just how I tend to look at things not allways popular to some because emotions don't come into it like many. The Wife says a delve into things to deeply but I feel you can never no to much about anything otherwise you get board. Even when I was a yougster I would drive Teachers nuts in boring classes.

oh god here we god again any fool who owns this strat knows the
neck is fast you think i'm the only one who knows this. pal you
need to look around other sites on this strat befor you say anything else.
and i was the guy who took your lunch money in school

I would doubt that could have ever happend. When you got of the little bus at School is this how they taught you to act as an Adult? Insult someone and not prove your point but to divert the argumnet away from the fact that you have no clue. And you want to no a little about me in school I will tell you I hated it because it was boring for years, I skiped the 3 and the 8 grade carried A's through out and still made the varsity Football team as the youngest player but that was because even in High school I was over 6'2" 220 so I had no problem with my lunch money. I will say a few like you got the got the boys room dunk given to them but not me for sure. So Always or Highway whatever can you tell us anything of fact if not why don't you go learn some more from all the other great forums you keep puking up across our boards. My knowledge I think has been shown if you agree with it or not you on the other have shown nothing in anyway. Well let me get to My 50 guitars and call My agent about the upcoming concert tour   Sorry thats you way of giving us a laugh. Well I will take that back for I should not stoop to your level so could you just explain why it is faster then others? What makes the C shape different and the finish from others made the same? How do Jumbo Frets make it Play fast? We are are waiting with baited breath. That reminds me while you are at it explan the sealing process so that the wood on the HWY breaths better?

This gets better and better. Fancy coming to a website trouncing every other guitar in favour of what some would call a substandard starter guitar. Claim to own 50 guitars and be a touring musician and not even provide one piece of educated well thought out argument or a band website or even agents website. I always thought actors used agents and musicians used managers anyway??? Still I've never met one successful musician who wouldn't advertise themselves at the drop of a hat. Lets face facts here you can never have enough bookings and most musicians will turn up to the opening of a letter if they think it will get them more.

Sorry alwaysthat your lack of supporting evidence or coherent argument negates the value of your opinion.

Damn, this is the kind of thread I regret clicking on. I come here to chat about guitars, not be subject to petty immature disputes that should be carried out through PM and not by derailing perfectly good topics

OK i'll stand corrected on that but lets see some evidence to your booking agent or tour schedule.

Come on guys you don't want to go there! Not worth it! Everyone has differing opinions on all sorts of things. That's what makes FMIC a great company! Lots to choose from! Chill! :)
