I guess the reason the Road Worns cost a bit more than a regular Mexican is because it costs Fender more to produce them since they have to go through the relic process. Again if it costs a company more money to produce a guitar it will cost the consumer more to purchase it.

I'd go for the Road Worn myself. They do have a genuine aged look. Quite honestly the Hwy One looks anemic.

my 2007 highway ones all say made in the usa so were do you get
mexican?[/quote]

A price tag of $899 and a gig bag does not lead me to conclude their American made guitars.

highway one sss is a $900 strat. the whole idia with the gig bag was to
keep the price down just think how much it would be with a case.

heres my advice go to other sites that talk and rate the
highway one sss strat the majority take the highway one over the american standard. my 2007's highway ones SSS are MIA'S not MIMS

Who has said the HWY One is not made in American? It is made in American using many parts from MIM guitars that is how the cost was kept down. This is all common knowledge. Who cares if you have a HWY One and you like it more then others thats great but don't try to justify that its better the any others. The same old argument. And arguing and using language of an unneducated child is rediculas. The members of this Forum often disagree with each other and they will state there resoning behind such things (Facts to which they believe) but they don't insult and act like well I am not going to say because I sure they no.
Just the same tired old argument brought back up by the same.

Gotta say this.

This weekend whilst escorting relatives around the st georges day festivities i happened across a favourite (big) guitar shop that i always used to use. I tried a couple of highways in there and was quite unimpressed. I really cant say that they stand up to a standard, the fretends and nut on both that i tried were horrible. Dunno if thats usuall with em i gave up on em after two. I have to say they didnt matchup to most mexican standards that ive played over the years never mind the american standards.

nik you have to be kidding. the ones i have (2007's) have superior tone
over the american standards. hard rock/classic rock/jazz the
highway one does it all thats more than i can say for the
american standards.
