I've seen other companies offer a transparent Black Cherry which looks great on a body with a bold grain or on a flamed or quilted body.

I'm also not a fan of paint. I love natural wood. The way it looks and the more open tone I hear from them. Unless you have some ultra cool color scheme (and not some vomit looking neon green bust with dragon flames or some other silly horseshit on it), I'd much prefer some beautiful wood, however finished. To me, that's just covering the beauty of the natural instrument.

My 98 MIA was black when I bought it. Love that for a while. Then got a bug to just strip it and go au natural. Vintage tint for the wood and a light coat of satin poly. I can't tell you how much that change not just the tone, but the feel of the string vibrations when I played it. More than I though it would. The average person might not notice the before-and-after difference from my guitar, and less so if I crank some gain on it. To me, I totally noticed it and that's all the difference I need.
