What is the difference between a standard tone control, a 'no load' tone control, and TBX??

a no load control has a detent at 10 and bypasses the tone circuit in that position.
TBX has a detent at 5, below 5 it operates as a normal tone control. Up from 5 it brings in the treble more. At 5 it's a slightly strangled tone.

The malmsteen strat has the no load type, do you know whether both tone controls have the detent at 10 on this guitar, or just the bridge tone control?

I believe the 'lower' one operates the bridge PU and the 'middle' one operates the other two PUs on this guitar.

My deluxe and CS guitars both have the no load control on the mid and bridge pickups. Im sure its an easy addition to the neck position but i've never seen it there. To tell the truth i cant hear much difference between it on 9 & 10. Even though i play clean tones with only a smiddgen of reverb.
