The tone controls work as they are supposed to. All the pickups sound out of phase, even when I have selected only one of them. This guitar has that Fender 5 way "super switch" (not the same as the standard 5 way switch). It has a boatload of solder points on it. I did not wire the guitar. I had a tech do it... one I have been going to for over ten tears now. As far as amps, I have used it in a Marshall and a Mesa Boogie. I have used different cords and I have been playing for twenty five years. Maybe I should just take it to another tech and have him look at it before I burn it!

Hmm. I'm not a master guitar tech or anything close, but it sounds like something's wired wrong, not grounded, tone or volume pot is jacked perhaps.

I'm assuming you have another single coil that sounds "right" through those amps, and it's just this one guitar that has the obvious issue?

There are a lot all over. You just have to find one in your area. Where are you?

dude, thats it
whoever wired it used the wiring diagram of lets say an mim stanard humbucker, and not the ones used for deltatone american standard tone pots, probaly missing something in the electronics.
at 1st i thought pos are wrong, now i can pretty much say the problem has to be the wiring diagram was followed incorrectly.
think about it, if you rewire the spark plug wires in your car 1 wire does not match the succesion, the timing is off, well the car will misfire.
if the guitar is wired reverse, upside down youll get a totally differnt sound
