OK i have been playing a ling timeand one technique I never had in my bag of tricks was using the trem bar.Now a few of my favorite players Beck,Blackmore, and Hendrix are masters at it but at the time I was shaping my own style I just really gave up on it because I NEVER MADE IT THROUGH A SONG without the guitar being out of tune and as I got older I never cared for buying a guitar with a Floyd rosea as I could kill a set of strings in two days of straight plaing and those things are torture to keep having to change strings.I have a lot of Beck dvds and a few Deep Purple one where They totaly abuse the trem and dont even make a guitar change yet 7 years ago I bought a high end Beck model strat yet it did not hold up as well as I thought to whammy abuse. So now I have heard lil secrets over the years like putting graphite on the nut but none of them really worked out for me.So all you masters of the bar whats your secret and if fender does something to top artist guitars to make them stay in tune why cant they just do it for everyone.KEEP ON ROCKING

My MIM Classic 50's Strat has a floating trem always seems to stay in tune. Just shake it all about!

I follow the carl veheyen method on trem setup and get no problems at all ever. Infact i rarely need to tune my guitar.

You need realplayer to watch this link to carls setup guide

Hi, I am a tremolo maniac... when I started playing strats last year I hated the fact that the tremolo needed a lot of care in order to stay in tune but as time went I learned to really set up the tremolo to where it doesnt go out of tune adn it floats nicely so it actually vibrates back and forth when you push it and let go... so if the bridge is properly setup you wont have tunning problems.... :)

I rub some chap-stick on the nut when i'm changing strings, and since i've been doing that, i haven't had a problem at all with the trem. i also use 5 springs in the back, but i dont know if that will make any difference or not
