I recently purchased a 2008 MIM strat. It's the upgraded version (tinted neck, MIM on the back of the headstock).

Although the dimensions listed for the radius, scale length, and nut width are identical to my 2007 MIM strat neck ( except for the tinted neck and the MIM being on the front of the headstock and not the back), the 2008 neck feels a little beefier.

ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THIS DIFFERENCE?

I'm a big fan of my 2007 neck, so I think I may get a 2007 MIM neck off of ebay or something and swap out the 2008.

The necks on the 2007 and 2008 models should have identical dimensions. Other than the change from vintage frets to medium jumbos, I think the necks have been pretty much the same for the last several years...

I have tried 2009 MIM in the store in my area and the neck is beefier C style than on the 2007. Also it has a lot beefier trem block.

That's what I thought! The 2007 neck feels like it was built for my hand, but the slightly beefier dimensions of the 2008/09 neck, though subtle, bug me a bit. I even called Fender's customer service line b/f purchasing the 2008/09 MIM Strat, and they assured me that the necks on the updated 2008/09's were exactly the same (aside from the tinting) as the 2007's. Guess they're not. I know I'm being picky, but I like what I like.
