What pickups came standard in the 2004/2005 American Standard Strat? I have one, the pickups sound noiseless but higher output than I've heard from others. They don't look aftermarket, there are no markings on them. all the classic Strat sounds are there, especially the funk sounds in the bridge, bridge/middle and middle positions, can nail that Nile Rogers skank. a lot of Strats only approximate this. The FAQ section doesn't address pickups so any (all) help here is appreciated. I own a number of Carvins and PRSs, this is my first Strat since my MIM Strat 20 years ago; it suffered from the 60Hz florescent light hum, this one does not -- I am very happy to say!

iconclaster,
I just looked at the quote in your signature, heard the "Duke's" voice in my head and busted out laughing. Great way to start my morning.

The pickups should be the so-called "Delta Tone" pickups. At least they were called that earlier this decade (because they were a part of the entire Delta Tone circuit, I guess). Anyway, unless a previous owner swapped them out, the pickups should be the standard black plastic bobbined Strat pickups.

They have a RW/RP middle pickup, so you would have noiseless operation in the combination switch positions.

You should indeed be able to get classic Strat sounds out of them!
