After wading thru countless forum entries trying to research a good set of hum free pickups I've narrowed it down to these 2 - and am leaning towards the Hot Noiseless ones, but don't want to walk away from the Holy Grails if they may have more punch than the H.V.N's.

Do any of you have experience comparing the Hot Noiseless to the Lace Sensor Holy Grails? If so I'd love to know what your opinion is on how the two sets compare... Have also read opinions here that the "noiseless stacked single coils are not TRUE single coils at all and do not produce the same sort of sound..." Is this true??? Curious to know more about that too - and if the Holy Grail set-up is in your opinion "more true to a single coil sound" than a stacked p'up...

Here's my situation:
I play Blues & Rock - and plug straight into my amp with no effects so good tone is important to me. I do not like "thin" sounding pickups. I like a warm sounding neck pickup (vol set at 6-7) - one that growls if I dig in to it or crank volume knob to 8-10. Bridge pickup that screams at full volume and rings like a bell at mid volume. (One that is overwound to be almost a P-90.) I have been very happy with my Kinman Woodstock Plus p'ups in a Hendrix Strat, but now want something close that I plan to wire-up to a second pickguard and drop into a Clapton Strat (w/o Kinman price tag)
