Hello everyone,

This is my first attempt at a relic strat. So, if you don't like relics, this topic is not for you. But if you like relics, like I do, please let me know what you think. This started as a Squier guitar that was a dark blue. The neck was too white, that is why the logo is gone. I used guitar reranch products. Neck Amber for the neck and nitro black for the body. The darker wood was made by a dark walnut stain. The finish was sanded off the neck and fender amber and walnut stain were applied, then lightly sanded down for smoothness. Then a coat of clear coat on top of the body. Please let me know what you think! Pleas be nice.. :)

Thanks!Image

Did u use SRV's strat as a guide somewhat? It has a similar look to the body of SRV's Number One

It;s a mix between some of my favorites. Clapton's Blackie, SRV's #1 and John Mayer's Black relic. I am not 100% happy with the back, but its ok for my first attempt.

Mayer's guitar was my template, but I didn't want exactly the same. Yeah, the back was more of a Clapton's Blackie attempt, but didn't turn out quite right. I didn't get all of the residue off the back before I painted and reliced. It's ok, but I may redo it or just take all of it off. I tried to do an ode to some of my favorite guitarist. It is a mint greek guard that is on there. It may be the light.
