In 20 years time when everyone elses guitar looks knackerd and yours is mildly worn you will appreciate the benefits of a polyester finish. The neck will yellow over time (not as bad as urethane and nitro just wears off) but thats about it.

I'm looking at a 13 year old pristine black maple necked MIM now. Its quite lovely to see.

Though to be tiresomely pedantic about it (sorry!) MIMs have polyurethane finished necks as do most MIAs, other than nitro coated Reissues, Hot Rods and such...

Trying to think of anyone who puts polyester on necks. Off the top of my head - I can't.

Cheers - C

The saddles if they are recent should read fender on either side. A good reproduction of vintage saddles that lend to a lively sound.

Try some others on your guitar, thats the simple answer.
I own guitars with various types and i'm telling you they sound more lively/zingy/trebley. They dont lend to sustain as well as the milled steel of 2point trem types but theres no adverse effects from them. You can choose to believe that or buy different saddles to try.

Hi gggelo: I'd be inclined to believe it - cos it's true!

If you stick around you'll find that one thing you can always trust is Nikininja's ears. Well all right, that's two things...

Cheers - C

The fender/fender printed either side saddles are a reproduction of the vintage saddles that read fender pat pending. These are the saddles you have that lend to the livelier sound. Look at all the vintage reissue guitars they all have them.
