Very cool, the guitar and the lady. You'd double lucky.

You better take care of both of them. A nice romantic night and a classy gift would not be out of the question. Make sure to write her a song with that guitar too.

Hey StratHeads-

My Wife Bought me my Strat....And My Gig Amp- She is a lovely lovely woman...Oh and the Guitar is just as sweet.

We all are lucky ...Our women put up with our tunes, our gear, and our fussing over our beloved Stratocasters. Tonight...we should toast our women- Without them we....well we might have more time to practice but...they are our inspiration !

To The Ladies.... HA HA !

The Freeze

That is so cool, and the way that you got it is awesome!!

I went to GC with my wife on Saturday and I found a really nice MIM that felt great. She told me to get it and I told her I didn't need it, but she said, "just get it." So, I did, and I love it!

I saw one in the LP blue, and that is a truly incredible color. Enjoy it!

What about Ceri's wife outbidding him on ebay! They did not know it at the time and she won!

Ah yes, that was a good one.

But in a way even better was Mrs C's tollerance and encouragement when I had Premier custom build me a seven piece drum kit. And then NOT sell the previous one to make room for it. How understanding is that?

To the OP, Mr Bowdiddley, I'd suggest the lavishness of the gift you now buy your wife will have a direct bearing on the excellence of the next amp you are permitted to purchase to go with that Strat. Remember that $800 dress she wants? Go to!

Cheers - C

On the wife thing...my wife had also bought me my MIM Standard...brand new back in '96. In my case however it's worth noting that my wife is also a musician herself! She plays flute, hand percussion (as in djembe and such), bass -and- she's the lead singer in my band. The upside is that she truly does understand...when I get the need to buy a new guitar or a new piece of equipment (as long as we can afford it and I don't have to sacrifice a house payment to do it), she knows. Of course the downside is, that she's the same way! LOL!!! Granted, she's not nearly as bad as I am but a few weeks back I spent an afternoon scouring a guitar show looking for a new bass neck for an instrument she is building (and I found one too!). It also allowed me a little leeway for the Yamaha bass I brought home that was in a fire as we both can play it...once it's refinished of course :D.

On the other hand, there's a reason why I drive a beat up Dodge minivan and she drives a beat up little Pontiac..........

I love my wife and I love that she's a musician too 8) .

L8r,
Jim
