Honestly they are both great strats! This one will fall to personal preference...
The vintage feels much different to me because it has that 7.25” Radius compared to the 9.5 on the deluxe. (21 Frets on the 57 and 22 on the deluxe)
Also the 57 has the 1-Piece Maple, “V” shape but the deluxe has a "recessed heel where the neck meets the body making it easier when reaching high up on the neck. When you adjust the truss rod on the 57 it is adjusted down near the body as opposed to the the headstock on the deluxe.

Also lets not forget the Nitrocellulose Lacquer Finish on the 57 not to mention the bridge differences.
Personally I bought a deluxe before getting the vintage, but for me it will be the American Vintage ‘62

Personally I absolutely love the v-necks on a 57, but I am only a kid ( no steady income) so i settled for the classic series '50s strat, which is delectable. it took a long time to save, but that just made it feel even better in the end to reap the rewards. :D

Welcome to the forum AJ!! I went for the Deluxe for some of the same reasons that bss has stated above and also unlike some I like the S-1 switching and the SCN pickups. Both are fine guitars but the Deluxe fit the bill for me at the time. Good luck choosing!

It really depends on your playing style and ability. I prefer the American Vintage over anything else in Fender's line up

I own a 57, had it for about 4 months now, and its the best guitar i have ever had. I love vintage guitars and vintage specs. it just depend on your prefrences really. The neck is the best thing about it, its perfect for me. Its not too skinny but not to fat. It really allows me hold on and dig in, if that makes sense. And you can't forget about that finish on the 57! Theres nothing better than opening that guitar case in the morning and smelling that beautiful nitro finish :D

I went for the deluxe also. S1 switching gives so many more options.

the 7.25" neck is nice, but the finish on the 59 and 62 vintage series guitars doesnt suit me at all. it feels sticky and my hand doesnt slide on the neck at all, and sticks more making playing uncomfortable.

prob just me but i much preferr the satin finish on the deluxe neck. also theres:

2 point trem,
locking tuners,
truss thats bi-directional and adjustable without removing or losening the neck,
noiseless pickups.

Thats if those differences appeal to you.

The case that comes with the vintage is way nicer though.

I bought a ADeluxe today, she's so amazing! I like that SCN PU so much.

I don't know why lots of guys here love 57-VG?

but,I love 57VG too...I just feel that tone is too vintage for me,that's why I chose the American Deluxe.

at last Thanks for you guys help so much!!!I love you guys!

Hello guys, first time to post here. I just recently traded my Les Paul Custom for a '57 AVRI and a Hot Rod Deville 4x10. Some might say I am crazy for doing this, but I have no regrets. The '57 AVRI has to be one of the best guitars I have played. I can not believe the neck on this guitar! It has to be one of the best I have ever played!!! And also I must say my that my american HRD clean tone is amazing!! My opinion about the topic here"57avri vs american deluxe" is that the 57 wins hands down. I've played the deluxe several times at local music shops, but in my opinion the neck on the 57 is better.

I have a 2009 American deluxe V-neck and I think that you get the best of both worlds with this guitar. You get the neck contour that fits like a glove but with the 9.5 radius to keep from fretting out on those big bends. The Schaller locking tuners and straplocks are also standard with this model. While not truly vintage sounding the SCN's are a great pickup. You also get the 22nd fret and you will save a few bucks.
