Hi I am new here but a life long Strat player.
I just dropped some big coin on a 1960 Custom Shop relic and have a problem with the truss rod.
I have been setting up my Strats for years and this is the first I have come across this one...
Just like Jimi say's..."I can't get no RELIEF!!!!!"
It has a 57 soft V on it and you have to take the neck off it to access the phillips style truss adjustor. I can add more convexness(straight) but it doesn't seem to loosen. I can spin the adjustor right off and it doesn't move any. I normally like to play with .010 off the eight on the E.
Any thoughts?
It's brand new and have registered it with Custom Shops Custom Care.
Just seeing if anyone else have run into this?

May be way off, but if you're use to a dual-flex truss rod, it may feel like this one isnt moving. Where the lua;-flex will move the neck both ways, the normal ones wont, so only tension will cause it to give relief. At least for me this is what I found when going from American Deluxe w/dual-flex to a reissue that only moves one way.

No, it's a vintage style neck.
Thanks for the reply though.

Try using harder gauge hehe also is it a quartersawn neck? those I heard are stiffer so I would think it could be a reason......
