The Custom shop puts out some real quality guitars, no doubt about it. Can you tell us more specific details on the guitar and post some pictures for us to look at? Love to look at CS guitars!
You may get a better (or more) opinion(s) if you post in the Custom Shop Forum Too! :)

To post pics you need to upload your pics to a site like www.photobucket.com and then you can copy from there where it says img under your pic and then paste them to your post here. Hope that helps you. Good luck. One thing you might want to consider is that if you are not the original owner of a Custom Shop guitar you are not eligible for the Custom Shop Care program. This might not matter to you if you are getting a good enough deal. :)

Mate if you want the ultimate strat with a fender logo put on it at the corona factory then customshop is the way to go. I own mim,mia and cs guitars. My mim is my personal favourite only because its been played in and tweaked by me for 14 years. The customshop feels close to that guitar without years of play. Im not saying they all feel like that indeed I didnt appreciate mine until a month or two after buying it.
Customshop is a ordeal of the nicest possible consequences, Just dont expect to be blown away off the shelf. I gig mine and i play hard, thats the level i expect guitars to meet and it shines.

Going from a 60s road worn to a Custom Shop Guitar is one heck of a jump. I wish I could find a music store that would let me take home 3K dollar guitars to try out. Sweet

Niki, I saw the OP on another thread talking about getting a MIJ strat. I am beginning to think something is amiss! :?

Koocho, I totally agree with you on the fact that the cs guitars look more naturally worn then the road worn series.

I have a MIJ contemporary 22, thats been passed around the family before ending up in my lap, so it's got over 20 years of abuse, and it's nicely aged, ontop of that i've played a original 62 strat, that has been put through the ringer over the years and it still doesn't look anywhere near as rough as the road worn. To me the road worn guitars look like a guitar that was left out in a barn somewhere for 50 years, which isn't really road worn it's just dilapitated.

Anyway yes the CS are much more expensive but you do get what you pay for. In my opinnion if you want a nice vintage looking guitar, the best way to do it is to buy a good quality guitar now and just use and abuse it, for 20 years, but keep it in shape.

my 2 cents about road worn guitars, sorry if it's a little off topic

Senior Hopkins as we know too well before you own a CS guitar you are visited with weeks of dilema. The cat asked about the instruments and i gave him my most honest appraisal of them as players guitars. Would you ever be without yours? Given a choice of which to keep all i can think is 'take any but that'. In 10 years that guitar is going to rock my world like no other. Theres no investment guitarwise to match that.

If the OP has thrown it out as a dream based question all is good. My answer stands. If you want the ultimate fender CS is the answer, ask Mike Eldred  .

I whole heartily agree with you Niki! I love my CS and will keep it for as long as the good lord says so but.....
I've seen the Op, all today, say something about he bought a Road Worn, then took it back, got a CS60s to try for a few days and now I see him on another thread talking about having a 85 MIJ! I'm confused as to what he is doing or asking! :?

Yknow if all this is a build up into him asking about customshop then so be it. My views stand. I dont realy care what he has or has tried. When it comes to that subject i remain resolved. Like yourself i own and enjoy many guitars. Neither of us are millionaires but given our chances again we know where we'd shop.

Ennit mate. [/i]
