Will the nicer 3 ply pickguard for a standard strat fit on a Squire strat?

I put a 3-ply pearloid pickguard on my Squier Standard Stratocaster. The 11 holes lined up well, but the new pickguard was a little thicker than the original. This meant I had to shave the part of the guard that goes under the fretboard. This may not be an issue if your guitar has 21 frets, but you'll likely need to do the same if you have a 22-fret guitar.

So it was a little more work than I expected, but I'm very happy with the results! 8)

They standardized the Squier pickguards to be the same as the MIAs and MIMs a couple years ago.

If your Squier is an older one, you may have to drill new holes.
