in my opinion, the super bullets work as well as every other brand of string.

I tried them once, and after 5 days of normal playing (2 hours a day maximum), I hadn't broken any strings, but they had corroded and gotten all nasty. So after that, I switched back to Ernie Ball's. They seem to not corrode as easily.

and 9's are the standard size for strats.

The answer's been given on string gauge. I'll give my 2 cents worth on brand. It is a very personal and subjective topic but I've played Ernie Ball Slinkys, Fender Super Bullets, GHS Boomers, and Dean Markley Blue Steels. The Blue Steels are the only string that I could actually hear a difference in tone when I tried them. My friend and guitar tech put a set on when I had a Strat setup. Glad he did! They last longer tonewise, and I have yet to have one break. GHS was my string of choice before the Blue Steels. Fenders were just okay, and the Ernie Balls come in last. BTW, I play 10-46 on my Strat and 11-52 on my Tele. I play live weekly, not to mention practice, and change my strings about every other month.

Strings really aren't that expensive so grab a set from a few different brands and find out for yourself what you prefer. You may be surprised the differencs a string change can make.

9's are usually standard - on most electrics.

Brand is preference - they're all pretty similar with small and subtle differences. Assuming they're one of the major strings brands and not "Bob Smith's XXX Turbo Guitar Strings" made by some local douche bag.

I was using d'darrio strings for a long time, they were just easy to get anywhere on the road and my local store had a good deal on 3 sets...
Then last year I put Fender Super bullets on my strat and Jazzmaster for a recording session and everything changed. I don't know if they're slightly different tension or a different composition of metal but the Bullets were brighter, had more attack AND most crucially they were more affected by the magnets in the strat pickups. Suddenly I was losing sustain to the magnets damping string vibration. I decided I needed to either drop my pickups for the increased magnetic attraction of the bullets and stick with those strings, or go back to d'darrios. In the end I went back to the Ernie Balls I used before and the problem was gone. I like Super Bullets, the way they fit in the trem block is great for a fender, but they're a little too bright and spanky for my sound.
yeah, so something else to think about there!
