Hello YZF JOE,

#2 pencil on the nut,
& 3in1 on the saddle.

Works well for me.

Cheers.

Ah...I concur  Works well for me too!

How much do you use? Do you dab it on and wipe of the extra?

I've been using the Big Bends Nut Sauce for about 10 years on all my Strats. I used to use the #2 pencil and Chap Stick but it made my guitars too messy. The Nut Sauce works really well for me.

You guys who like oil - Do you really want oil soaked into the nut, slot and board?

Not only that but in some cases oils softens and will prematurely cause a nut to wear out  Same thing with vaseline.

I've tried everything in the last 30 years, and BB Nut Sauce is the most effective and safe thing I've found. I will try out the Super Lube on the other page tho, cos the Nut Sauce is expensive

Graphite on the nut, 3 in one at the saddle. And of course, use sparingly unless you want to get the $h!+ all over the place. Apply with a q-tip. Gave up on pensil lead a long time ago. Messy pain in the @ $ $. The nut sauce or something similar w/graphite suspended in it is the way to go.

And vaseline is not the same thing.

I have a mechanical pencil with HB lead in it and use the lead dabbed in vaseline petroleum jelly and apply as needed. The lead transfers some graphite combined with the vaseline. :)

I use #2 pencil for the nut and 3 & 1 oil on the nut. Use small amounts and wipe off excess. I too use a tiny syringe-like applicator for mine so I do not have much of a mess to clean up. RK
