I can certainly believe that they are a very nice guitar, I just haven't run across one yet to test drive. I will sooner or later though. Congratulations on your purchase! 8)

Cool sounds like you found a Diamond in the rough :D Me I have yet to play one that I could warrent paying 9 bills for. I tried 3 off the display at GC and a number at Bill's. A few weeks back I set two up (my cut was 70.00) and they played nice but I could not go that amount on them.

Congrats, Koocho, great choice! I love my 60's sunburst, can't put it down! I wish you, and the rest of us Road Worn fans many satisfying years with these axes!

It feels and sounds great, and to me is a great value. I'm not saying that $949 is a drop in the bucket, but to be fair, I have to compare this to the other 60's Strats that Fender currently sells, and how they differ from the RW.

MIM Classic Series 60's Strat - $919.00 for rosewood/sunburst. Thin vintage frets, thick polyester finish, standard pickups, generic bridge pieces.

MIM Classic Player 60's Strat - $1109 for rosewood/sunburst. Modernized with 12" radius, two-point bridge, '69 pickups, polyester finish

MIA Vintage '62 Strat - $1939 for rosewood/sunburst. Nitro finish on body and neck, USA vintage pickups, Gotoh tuning machines, usa vintage bridge, thin vintage frets, 3-way switching

So if you are after a 60's style Strat, you can see that the Road Worn is a fair value at $949 since you are getting a nitro finish on the body, Ping tuners and bridge, jumbo 6105 frets, and Tex-Mex pickups.

BUT even with the above mentioned justification of price, the hurdle for many is the 'relic' look. Personally, I love it. However, I also think that if Fender got rid of the Classic Series strat and replaced it with all the features of the Road Worn without the 'relicking' (is that a word?) and offered it for just under a grand, they would have a sure winner that would easily be 'relicked' naturally and fairly quickly.

Welcome to the forum, koocho! I'm glad you enjoy your new guitar, but please take the following in the spirit in which it is offered:
