I recently came across a couple high quality images of counterfeit Strats.
One forum member posted images of his "Jaguar" special edition copy, these are more "standard" models for your perusal!

These two don't have serial numbers, but if you've ever seen any Chinese fake Les Pauls, you know that they aren't afraid to put on serial numbers (in usually the wrong font and size).

Now feel free to discuss what's wrong with them; the shape of the back of the neck near the heel is wrong, for one.

Right.

That area where the back of the neck meets the headstock isn't right on the black one either.

And i didn't know that Fender made pickguards with only 10 screws like on the Jaguar strat.

They look like Lipsticks on the black one orv. Wish there was a closer pic of the pickguard.

Looks to me like all of the body edges on the black "strat" are too sharp. Could be the photos though. I think it's pretty clearly a fake -- I just hope no one was duped.

Vulkan that lower cutout looks too deep also. Still those studiologics are very nice cases. They only cost £45 and are flightcase spec'd (waterproof, airtight).

I like the jag type, if it played well i'd consider it regardless of its origins.

Right. The cornering guy was probably working on fake Ibanez's the day before...

Given how close they can get the details why do they persist in nevertheless getting some of it wrong (afore mentioned lettering, etc)?

Scary pictures though, huh?

Presumably some of the metal parts are from legit sources, albeit perhaps via the back door? Would a faker set up to produce those block saddles, or just buy in?

Makes things even more tricky...

Cheers - C

the edges of the bodies are to sharp and the horns are miss shaped also there is 2 point style bridge saddles on a 6 point bridge and the truss rod hole is wrong on the yellow one and on the black on i assume that the truss rod is at the heel but there is no route on the pickgaurd and a 50s style necks have a plug at the headstock truss rod hole
that's what i see

There's no skunk stripe on either one. So the black one must have a maple fingerboard applied on the maple neck, unless it doesn't even have a truss rod!

Notice how wide the 12th fret markers are positioned.

There could be a LOT of trouble once they start getting the small details correct.

Perhaps it's just not cost effective for them to retool to get it right?
