Hi everybody,
I've just bought my favourite guitar to date. It's a 12 year old Fender (obv.) Strat Plus. The reason for this thread is because I'm getting an unwanted harmonic on just the high e string when I either play the open string or fret a note. I'm guessing its got something to do with the bridge but I'm not sure.
As far as I can tell, the action is fine for me (higher than most people have it) so I'm stuck as to an explanation for the harmonic.
Any suggestions would be extremely welcome.

Cheers.

Welcome!

If you've narrowed it down to the bridge, sight unseen, chances are that the strings over the years have burrowed a deep notch where they rest on that particular bridge saddle and the string now sits IN the saddle rather than ON it. Try "feathering" the notch. That is, smoothing it over to the extent where the string once again rests ON the saddle more than IN it.

before you mess with the saddles drop you pick ups a bit that should fix it if its only on open and 1st fret notes
