I have a chance to pick up a 71' strat, don' yet have any further details. But it is said to be in very good condition. Anyone have any idea of a fair price on a 71'?

Not enough information just certain colors can increase the value of a Strat from those years 25 - 35% and condition can mean a difference of 5G's.

Four-bolt necks are more sought-after than three-bolt, too... some of the '71 models still had the old '60s-style neck mounts.

True, most 71's are four bolt but they did cross over latter that year to the three bolt that had Leo's micro adjustment.

Very good condition could be a refin as well...need pics. Take it apart, check for neck/body stamps, dates on pu's/pots as well as the obvious serial #.
