I'v recently found out why you need them little springs inside the hole where the whammy bar goes - I lost my one, and I'v bent the tremelo arms and every time I put it on now, and scratches along the wood because its bent.

The lack of spring didnt bend the arm, excessive force or severe metal fatigue bent the arm. You can buy them from axesrus or wdmusic in the uk. I dont know about america look around the guitar parts sites.
