I read that he had 5/64" on treble side, but whats that? Milimeters doesn't usually have a '/' in it. (and I'm sure it wouldn't be inches )

I'v recently found the plus points of havin' high action and considering Stevie's one of my best.
Does anyone know in milimeters?

Right just wanted to share that i played a SRV earlier and it is truly Boner inspiring...
I've been playing for 5 months and due to my increasing speed of learning have had the opportunity and ceased them to play A original 57 strat and the SRV...

[quote="windwalker9649"]I use heavy Fender pearoid, that I shape with a file. i grind it down so its about 1/3 the size of the original, then bevel the sides so they arent flat, then I have a pocket knife sharpener that has a groove that I run it through that rounds out the bevel.

I mean i take 1/3 off, not down to 1/3rd.

Blues Junior with a Keeley moded TS 808.
Can't get any closer in my opinion.
Don't forget to play with the neck pickup and crank up the treble!!!!

They dont keep them in stock at many stores.I happen to live in a big city and one of the larger stores had one in stock.I ended up buying mine online some time after.

Actually he used 13s and had very high action. He also had his amps dimed,so move out in the country .I have an srv strat and i have 10s on mine.I also play with thru a bassman ,a BDRI and a tubescreamer, but i dont sound anything like SRV. its those dang hands of mine! I would just experiment until you find a sound you really like and have fun with it.Nothing wrong with giving a nod to your hero , but find your own voice and play your heart out.

What does having his amps dimed mean

The Keeley Moded Ibenez TS808 are great. Keeley took the 808 to another level all together. They had a fire a few months ago so I am not sure what that may have done to there production of pedals. One article said it was a big loss and another in Premier Magzine said they were only down for 3 weeks which I hope was correct because they make nice pedals.

It means turning your amp all the way up.
