Ok well ive spent the last month on this site in my spare time reseaching guitars and watching youtube videos.

All i can say is the Originals are the best...In my opinion
However i would love to hear peoples opinions on Old vs New and there favourite era of Strat design.

What Strat do you have and what do you play on it?

Its all a bit meet and greet for me but some of you have seen my posts before and seem very helpful and polite :D

However i did encounter someone not so polite earlier while Discussing Fake Fenders...Clearly has a Bee in his bonnet

Hi I'll play, and welcome to the forum

I play an 08 Am Std three tone SB. I really don't know what is the best year or era. I can't imagine any were much better than todays strats, but I have nothing to compare it too. If anything modern production techniques should make the quality more consistent.

I think much of the hype of old guitars is just that...hype. Generally, this hype comes from people who lived in an era that they now cherish from their youth, when everything looked better, tasted better, was made better ect.....but it's mostly based on memory and not on reality. I hear guys in their 50's and 60's talk about how great and fast the old muscle cars were. The truth is that most were slower than todays family sedans, handled worse and had crappy brakes. I think the same thing holds true about guitars, in that the tuners were generally not as good, the pickups noisy, tiny frets, instable tuning, tremolos that could only be used once and inconsistent build quality.

Well I just posted some touchy stuff, lets see how bad I get flamed for this.

 I should hope no one gives you hell for it as its only an opinion but i have had the luxury of playing an original Start from late 50's and it was a very nice memorable moment in my guitarist life.

Im about to purchase a Classic 50's strat because i love them but also becuase im hoping it can bring me some where within the same ball park of pleasure the original did.

Thanks for sharing :D

No doubt some great guitars were made. Some of them have major mojo, as do some old muscle cars. With all that I posted here, I would loveto get my hands on a classic strat
