The black spring is off of a newer made in America strat. Nothing special. MIM comes with silver springs. Newer MIA come with black springs.

First thing that comes to mind would be the material that the trem block is made of.

Its a great looking guitar. I like the color scheme. Have fun playing it. Figure out modifying it later.

By the way it looks like you have some laundry to do first.

Very cool. My first strat was a mex 94. I loved that guitar. Still do!

Congrats. You just acquired a new friend for life.

What color is that, perhaps Olympic White? I have a 1970 Strat in that color. It's sweet.

im not sure the colour as i got this used so there was no tags or anything. i did notice the neck is thicker than a Tele so it took a little getting used too.

i traded my mim tele for this because i wanted a whammy bar but i already miss my tele now even tho i love this lol. Man it sucks being poor and having to choose lol.

ok maybe not poor, in debt lol... Time to pay those bills so i can buy a few more guitars

I like it its one fine looking guitar.

To clarify on the springs silver and black trem springs are used on american guitars. Vintage reissue have silver deluxe and standards have black. The black ones have less tension than the silver. I just switched the silver in my vintage hotrod for black springs.

what Niki said. I would use all the same type of spring. Easier to make sure the tension on the claw is balanced. congrats on a fine lookin' axe!
