I was reading today that Hendrix' childhood home is being 'deconstructed' and that the current owner is going to preserve some things, sell others and most importantly, use pieces of wood from the floor and other areas to make guitars! Sounds good to me! Aside from the obvious problems of probably not having the right kind of wood it's still a fun idea.

That may actually work. assuming it was a 2 story home. Being that it was purchased for $10 in 1950, I doubt it was. Fun idea, doesnt really sound practicle though. :(

No can do, man.. Lath and plaster in those days. Building materials have come a long way in the last 50 years, guitars however have not.

Drywall 50 years ago in america. You guys were the inventors of the system. It landed in england in 63 or 64. JH's house would of been lath and plaster though. You'd need lath to strengthen the middle of the body anyhow. You could use 1 piece and make it a neck through.

I may knock a lespaul cast up later. That could be fun. What to finish it with? you'd need bullet proof lacquer.

Some people will do anything for money. To pay 2 mil. for a house that was so run down that they condemed it and apparently don't care who lived in it for a few years sounds a little goofy anyway. Dude got more money then he knows what to do with. He could have maybe bought a Hendrix played guitar for that and broke it up and sold the wood splinters  kind of like what they did to Babe Ruth jerseys when they used pieces on baseball cards and you had a chance to get one in a pack  And that jersey was a real artifact desroyed for money.

OH ya Washington slept at My House maybe I should sell some of My dust   Just Kidding
