Do you have an amp already or does that need to come out of the budget as well?

Post all you want! In your price range I think either a Highway One or one of the Road Worn series. Tele or Strat. 8)

That's a little out of his price range, I think. I agree with whoever mentioned the Highway One series. They're slightly above your budget, (they retail for $900) but some sellers still offer them for the old price ($750) and you could probably find one used for less than that. Those are amazing all around guitars. And their American made.

The Classic Series are really nice guitars. I'd go with a one of those, Highway 1, or if you want something a bit less expenisve, but quite nice, a MIM Deluxe would be a great start.

Ive decided guys that with my playing improving as it is and my love of strats being what it is that im going to get a Classic 50's Strat.
It'll be in 2tone sunburst and of course with the maple neck :D thankyou so much all of you who have shown an interest and helped me decide.

I'll be setting up a post to Discuss the Vintage/Classic strats.

Back to Basic...Back to the Best.

Hi ClassicRock92: a nice guitar to be sure. Just be aware when you go to try them out that it has a V-shaped neck. Be sure to A/B it against the modern C-shape on a Standard Strat to get the feel of the difference.

'Course, you may know about that already. Just offering thoughts if they're useful.

BTW: you're in Devon, huh? Whereabouts, I wonder? I spend half my time there: you probably know that you happen to have one of the finest guitar shops on the planet within striking distance...

Cheers - C
