I own a black 2005 American Stratocaster HH hardtail. I replaced the black pickguard with an engine-turned aluminium one from Fender (I still have the original pickguard). I understand that Fender no longer makes this guitar. Does anyone know how to find out how many were made and will this guitar be a future collectable?

Does it have the s-1 switch or is it pretty much the same as the Big Apple strat?

As far as I know, Fender does not divulge production numbers to the public. I am not sure whether that info is reflected in the serial number or not.
Cool guitar tho. I like non-traditional Strats (HSS, HH, HSH) as much as the traditional set up SSS. Its all good.

It does have S-1 switching which allows many combinations of the coils in the two humbuckers.

I know a guy who does old school pin striping on cars and he said he would like to pin stripe my guitar. This is why I was wondering if this guitar would be a future collectable- I don't want ruin it's value. But, on the other hand, this guy is an awsome pin striper and I know it would look fantastic.

If you have seen his pinstripe work, and it is good, go for it. Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top has an old Gibson SG that is pinstriped, and it looks sweet. Truly hot rodding!!! Now just add a high rise manifold, big four barrel carb, and a nice cam and your ....oh wait....sorry wrong hot rod!!!
