someone is trying to sell me a japanese reissue 62 neck. I know it probably is not as well made as the MIM or USA neck but he wants $60 bucks for it. what do you think?

Sounds like a great deal to me. What year is the neck?

Sounds pretty good, as long as the neck is in good shape. Most Japanese stuff is very good - they take a LOT of pride in their work (Korean, Chinese, Taiwan - that's another story).

If it's in good shape and you like it, I'd buy it.

Hello Aeliaz1,

If the neck is good the deal is good.

The after that your gonna need about
$500 more to assemble a nice axe w/ hard case.
Look at the big picture, putting together a stratocaster
isn't rocket science but you should at least have some basic
skills like being able to tune and setup a guitar. I'm not trying to
be a wet blanket just explaining that some great deals have two sides.

Best of luck if you get it, we all will enjoy any photos.

Cheers.

If its a 7.25" vintage radius I'll buy it for $60. Is it maple or rosewood fingerboard?

$60 for a genuine Fender neck in good shape is a great deal, whether MIA, MIJ or MIM. Fender Japan makes a nice product, and all the MIJ guitars I have bought, I still own. For me, that says a lot, cuz if I don't like it, I will sell it.

I'd try take credit for that pun.

back on track though, I would probably buy it. There is nothing wrong with the Japanese fender stuff. in fact after CBS sold fender to it's management group in the 80's they used the Japanese fenders as the benchmark for quality control. They considered elevating the USA product to the high standard set by the Japanese products to be vital to the survival of the company.

Not as well made as the MIM neck  60.00 for a MIJ 62ri neck, I would have already bought it and not been on here asking about it. I hope it is still available to you. Atlansia, FujiGen and Dyna made some fine guitars and neck. For like 15 years Atlansia made necks for fender guitars made by FujiGen not the whole guitar.
