:?:Hi! I bought my Squire Start Playing Pack about four months ago. In the last month weird things were going on with my guitar and I don't know why. :( It would play time to time; and there were times when I would come from school plug it in it works, but then I would turn it off, go eat something, come back and it does not work. I checked the cable and even bought a new one. No progress. And now it does not work for the most part. So I went to Guitar Center to trade it in and they said that they wouldn’t take it because the 30-day return warranty is over. So now I have to call the fender company and talk to them. Is there a better way to fix it? :?: :?:

Welcome to the Forum.

Sounds to me like a wire has come loose inside. Take it to a tech and have it checked out.

First thing I would do is check the cord jack…make sure the nut is tight and the jack is getting good contact…if that jack is even a little loose you could lose the ground and the whole rig wont make sound….that happens from time to time on my MIJ…..it that don’t work I would take it to your local music store (and I don’t mean guitar center) and have a Tech look at it.. sounds like a bad connection/ loose wire or something…..

I agree, it probably has something to do with the input jack. My Squier had the same problem when I got it. It's not worth trading or returning it for such a minor problem, take it to a guitar tech and have it looked over.

It might not be the guitar. It could be the amp. Have you tested the amp with another guitar?

hi, welcome to the forum

i know what ur talkin about, the same happened w/my silvertone what the problem w/mine was the chord jack, the nut actually came off so u might want to check that out, if not then it could be what others who replied have said, somethin internal or your amp. Personally, i would take my guitar to Guitar Center and explain the problem to them. They are very helpful, they solved the problem for mine.

Good Luck!!!!

thanks, I'll try that!

the thing is that my other guitar - Harmony, works fine; and it is like vintage.

I'm going to test the jack, sounds like it might be it.
