Thanks, Chief! I love the candy cola red color. It looks amazing. As for the amp I was going to get the G-DEC 15 but this looks like a great amp without the extra bells and whistles. I think starting with basics is better...just me creating sound from this beautiful guitar!

Good choices, but a wee pricey for a beginner rig...maybe try a Standard Series MIM and save some $$$ until you decide if you like it.

(pst the mim are not as different as some would have you believe)

Oh and the Super Champ XD is worth the few extra bucks if you want it.

I see your point as to the price of the guitar but I never really buy anything for myself (always working and saving)...especially anything really cool. This is an investment-not in that the value of the guitar itself will go up...but in a hobby away from the stress of life, work, etc. Then when I get old I can look back at the dents and faded paint and remember those glory days when I was a younger man who wanted a great Fender to begin his guitar days with. I really want to practice and learn the art...and seeing all of the cool people on this board inspire me to do that even more.

Good - for now.

Great guitar, junk amp.

The pros...
- you'll have a great guitar to help your playing
- that guitar will last pretty much forever
- it's pro quality that you can tour and gig regularly with
- the amp price will help your pocketbook

The cons..
- you'll have a very weak, thin tone from the little amp
- you won't get the tones you're probably looking to get
- you're probably not going to like using that for anything other than practicing

Good choice though. It's better to start off this way. You'll never need another guitar no matter what you do, or how good any music career goes. The amp is good enough for practice and to get your technique up. Get to where you can get a great tone from that amp, meaning in your hands and knowing how to regularly tweak the amp. Then, when you get an amp that matches that nice guitar better, you'll appreciate it that much more.

Wow, if you have a love for guitar, and you can afford it, go for the MIA. You'll be happier in the long run. The G-DEC or Super Champ will go great with it. Good luck.

Hi Fenderseeker09, good choice, great guitar and good amp. You know you'll ask fifty persons what they think and you're likely to have fifty different responses. This is your starter kit, you'll probably end up in less than two years with at least another guitar and amp, plus one or two pedals. I love the candy cola red. 8) Good luck.
Claude.

honestly, your just begining playing (im assuming)
stratwise you can go either way.
but i say if you find a 900-1000 am strat get it, due to the price increases for 2009, theyll be going up to 1275.00.
as for the amp. forget the vibrio champ. its a nice tube amp, but the gdec will help you imrov 100 percent. it has good sounding tones, bells and whistles galore. and backtracking to blues rock and other types of styles.]

if later you decide in an amp, you can get an amp depending what kind of style you play.

by the way, i have the 15 watt gdec(265 dl), and the line 6 75 watt spiderjam(450dl)(sick practice amp)
for the price.

They would be a good start.
