Do most of you float your bridge or have it set? I know it's all personal preference and right now I have mine floating and I like it so far. The down fall is that I can't drop D my Strat or tune to Eb because it puts everything out of tune but I have a Les Paul that I can do alternate tunings with.
Just wondering if most people here float their bridges or have them set.

Yeh, I think part of a Strat is having a floating bridge and being able to get full use of the whammy bar.
Did Hendrix and SRV float their bridges?

Both Jim and SRV used theirs floating. Jim also used 5 springs.

My Deluxe Strat has a 2 point trem. I have it floating, but I just bought a Highway One HSS Strat today, with a vintage 6 screw trem. I blocked it for dive only, so I can drop D with it. But it stays in tune well either way.

I was a Floyd Rose guy for 20 years. I always used them floating. Then when drop-D came in vogue I started blocking. But also, I will block a guitar if it is lacking in the tone department.

BTW: the Highway One Series. Fender's best guitar in the value/price category (IMO)

I've got two strats and have always kept the bridges decked because I didn't want to deal with the tuning issues. But recently I decided to float one of them so I could use the Tremolo as originally intended. So far it is working out. It did make the strings sound a little "rubbery" when I played the guitar unplugged, but playing through an amp it's not bad. I've always felt I've been missing something by not having the Tremolo available on my Strats, but now at least I've got one set up to where I can use it if I want.

Do a search on 'float'. There have been so many threads on this recently that I think you will get a better answer there. Also, I vote "no float".

I float both of mine at the factory 1/8" and don't have any issues.

I float mine. I actually had more tuning issues with the bridge against the body.
