How much did the CS set you back if you don't mind me asking?

Mine was only the second one made (RB's was the first!) and they even had to get his permission to put his signature on the headstock! It wasn't officially offered from the CS yet either. I ordered it in July '97 and received it on Halloween '97. I worked for Guitar Center at the time, so after my discount, it was roughly $2400.

Although $2400 is alot, that's still an amazing price for a CS RB. Are you planning on buying the MIM version? If so, give us a review and compare it against your CS and MIJ versions.

I'll check one out just to compare it, but I won't buy one. $1200 is completely ridiculous.

You can be pretty sure of that my friend. We're making sure that every Blackmore is coming great out of the factory!.

After waiting 4 months for the Blackmore I ordered to come in, I was sadly dissapointed when I saw it today. The neck had 8 frets to high causing a horrible problem and the action was so high I could have driven a semi under the strings. After 2 hours of the in house tech working on it it still was not responding to fret filing, neck adjustments and trem adjustments. The end result was that the guitar will be returned to Fender for a suitible exchange or I will get my money back. It seems that the factory was more concerned with the scallops then the fret wire levling and general playability. I'm really dissapointed in the quality of this instrument. I have been a huge supporter of the Mexican Strat for years, but this in my book is totally unacceptable. Ever hear of a Friday built guitar ? Any Fender employee reading this is encouraged to contact me for further information (but be able to prove you are an employee)

Hello Pat , I also ordered a new Blackmore Strat from a local dealer and Ive been waiting for it since Jan when I ordered it after the NAMM show , I did not think it would take this long for Fender to ship these guitars. On the RBTC on this new Blackmore like the original one in 1997 that Fender produced it does not come with the RBTC . You can buy the RBTC through MIJ FENDER .com he makes them, last time I looked at his site they were 125.00 around that plus shipping and import tax from the UK. Though This is a remake of the original MTC MASTER TONE CONTROL the original made for Ritchie's Strats by John "DAWK" Stillwell Ritchie's Guitar tech electronics guru,
who worked for Ritchie in DEEP PURPLE through RAINBOW, He modified all of Blackmore's gear even his MARSHALL MAJOR heads. You can buy the MTC through Dawks Website last price for this unit was 375.00 around thier. Check out his site, he also has some of Ritchie's Original LACE SENSOR pickups for sale taken out of Ritchie's Strats, and also Custom Blackmore Strats. The MTC this one that he makes now works best with the LACE SENSORS Ive been tol
d. good luck.. :D
