Even with as much as it hurts, remember that those dings, scratches, etc just give that guitar some character. Give it a smile, a hug, then play it!!!!!

When you're called Ceri you go through life with nobody being able to pronounce your name, or spell it if they hear it.

Plus, every year of school each new teacher did that thing of reading out the names and people raising their hands so's the they can identify who's who. Invariably when they got to Ceri they'd be looking amongst the girls, to the vast hilarity of the class. "Surely this joke is old now?" I'd ask. "Fresh as the first time," they'd reply.

Only two possibilities: get good at fighting, or - like Brian May said - get up on the stage and divert everyone's attention...
