There are quite a few differences, but Fender's website goes further into the differences than Musician's Friend does.

oh~really?

they both have the alder body and the maple neck and the same hardwares, I've one classic 60's sunbrust strat and one American Standard, I find not so much diffirents in their performance

i plan to purchase another vintage strat, but i haven't used a USA 62's, so I'm not sure if it's necessary for me to buy a USA made guitar, cause the Mexico one is much cheaper than 62's

the body and neck of both guitars are exactly the same. up until recently they were made in usa and shipped to mexico for assembly. the only difference is the pickups, paint and i think the hardware may be different.

Copy and paste everything in the code area into a text file - then make the window wide - looks fine to me.

Or just make your window wider.

And my comment at the end was a joke - they appear to be very different to me:

Colors and Finish - very different
Neck Finish - different
Body - contours maybe different
Pickups - different
Switching - different unless you mod the '62
Bridge - different
Tuners - different
Hardware - slight difference
Case - very different
Extras - '62 has lots, '60s - none

But yeah, they are just Strats - how different could they be ?

And I would agree, the '62 should be better - myself, I like the '57 one :P

I don't see where I got them wrong - like I said make the window wide enough or copy and paste to another text window that you can make wide. I put my comparison in a code block so that it would be easy to read or copy - but you need a wide-enough window.
