Post subject: Question about mim lonestar

I am thinking about getting a mim lonestar strat but am wondering if you can do a coil tap on the pearly gates.

Also when they say push/pull to you actuall push or pull the knob

Thanks for the help and any feedback on the guitar

The Pearly Gates can be tapped as it has the 4 conductor lead wire.

Yes, the push/pull actually is a switch built into the pot so you do indeed, pull the knob up to turn the switch on and push it back down to turn it off. This switch can also be wired to have the reverse function: Down = on; Up = off.

The Lonestar is a mighty fine guitar. You won't be disappointed.

I know that the SD Pearly Gates pickups can be coil tapped. However, I believe that these versions of Pearly Gates HB's are designed specifically for this guitar and may be different than the original model.

Just a thought.

I guess you would put the push/ pull pot in for the volume one since there is no tone for the bridge pickup

Not necessarily. You could if you want but the push pot can be wired where the switch part of it is wired for one pickup and the pot part of it can be wired for another.
