I googled for a bit and couldn't seem to find an answer to all of the questions, but found this;

http://cgi.ebay.com/Fender-1957-2007-Commemorative-Stratocaster-Mary-Kay_W0QQitemZ330315089346QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar?hash=item330315089346&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

Hopefully that answers some for you.

Thanks for the link-But-i have been there/done that!
there are many nice photos but no history.
I remember getting a guitar center monthly flyer with a story on the commemorative reissue(maybe a GC exclusive?)some time back(2007)
but have had no luck in getting details on this axe.
I picked one up and it is gorgeous! I havent taken posession of it (on hold for 30 days-sheriffs s/n check out)and dont know if there is a COA
the guitar still has the pickguard protective film on it as well as the whammy hole covered with the protective dot. It plays great although it has the 3 position switch and needs a restring with some higher gauge wire(they feel like .008's) :roll:

I called Fender's Customer Service about when the serial number for my 57 Mary Kay reissue was assigned. They happily provided serial dating info but nothing about as how many were made. The official line is: "Limited to 2007 production only." As a private company, Fender does not disclose sales or production figures. Probably keeps investor-speculators and people who flip new guitars for a living off balance?

Judging from what I learned about my Strat, most of the 57 "Mary Kay" RIs (Fender never officially labeled them as such) were probably produced from July through September 2007 and sold largely at GCs at blowout prices during the Christmas selling season. One or two were allocated to independent Fender dealers, a few of which may still languish on the rack at $1400-1500 street. List was $2275. There are about 214 GCs in the U.S. but this model was also sold at various outlets in Canada, UK, Europe and Japan. Judging how many pop up on eBay and Craigslist, I suspect that there aren't nearly as many Mary Kay RIs around as the regular 57 AVRIs. If Fender allocated GC 10 per store to sell in the U.S, that's 2140 Strats. I estimate that about 3,000 +/- were made, including U.S. and foreign sales.

No matter how "limited," it's one of the best-playing 57 Strat RIs Fender has ever issued to date. What makes this particularly model stand out is the see-through White Blonde and all-nitro body and neck.

I agree that it is both cosmetically and mechanically an awesome guitar.
the finish is so unique-the opaque white must have a tiny bit of gray/black/blue in it to give off the grey/lavenderish tone.
So fender didnt disclose the bill of materials? It seems to me that the article I was referring to(GC monthly mailer) said that the pickups were wound by or to spec of the lady that oversaw the pickup manufactering during the 50's(cant remember her name) It would be great if someone had a copy of the GC mailer to download!
What string setup are you using? The action was a little too low and gauge lite for my taste. I am really pleased to own a Strat that doesnt look like every other one on the "wall"
It's funny, I was looking for a rosewood neck, olympic white,with the single coils that have the reverse wound middle pickup, when i stumbled into the Mary Kay.(i have a 52 tele RI w/ a paf in the neck position and wasnt looking for another maple neck) The MK knocked my socks off and i dropped all the criteria that I had in mind for "my ideal strat":D

Meguiar’s Mist and Wipe Kit Discontinued in the Kit in 10/2007,

To celebrate the iconic '57 turning the big 5-0, we are rolling out this anniversary model in a popular early cosmetic- White Blonde with Gold hardware. The 1957 Commemorative Strat® includes a special neckplate, and will only be produced in 2007. Although the Strat officially debuted in 1954 (ash body, U-shaped neck), the year 1957 is important, as this is the year that the specs all came together (alder body, V-shape neck), making the guitar what we know and love today.
