I am putting my eye on a 79 original Start on Ebay which is priced at AU$1999 (I live in Australia). in US$ it's about 1370.
Is this a good value for a 79 start?
What makes a guitar a vintage guitar?

Well, for starters it is a great looking guitar! But it is overpriced considering its not all original and is without the ohsc.

According to the Vintage Guitar Price Guide, an all original 1979 in Wine goes for between $1600-2100 based on condition. The main problem is that this isn't all original. It has a humbucker, which to add that would require additional routing in the pu cavity.

As a collector, I would let this piece go by. As a player, I'd pick it up if it were about $500 less than his asking price.
